This needs to be limited in size (circa 5 people) and include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Top management representatives (who have authority for emergency decisions)<\/li>\n<li>Staff with experience specific to the type of crisis, who may communicate well with local or national authorities (e.g. medical units) and have active contact or monitor updates from such authorities<\/li>\n<li>People who have a good reputation\/trusted by staff, have active regular communication with employees, ensure transparency of decisions made and are able to convey sensitive information<\/li>\n<li>People who have no conflicts of interest with respect to the institution or possible emergency decisions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An internal memo on the setup of such a task force needs to be shared within organizations asap; this should include their names, contact details, and authorities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-2342-2-0-2\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"7\" ><div class=\"c-tab c-blue panel-widget-style panel-widget-style-for-2342-2-0-2\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><h3 class=\"widget-title\">Analyze COVID-19 impact on the institution<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>An express risk analysis from a senior international financial expert is recommended to highlight MFI vulnerabilities to current market changes. This includes focusing on multiple areas, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operational Risk<\/li>\n<li>Credit Risk Exposure Ratios: concentration by sector, clients, geography<\/li>\n<li>Asset Liability Management: currency-interest rate spreads, maturity gaps<\/li>\n<li>Earnings<\/li>\n<li>Capital and liquidity buffers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>BFC is in contact with various international experts with\u00a0 extensive experience in taking mitigation measures, having worked through the world economic crisis of 2008\u20132009, and local financial crisis in developing marketing of 2014\u20132015.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-2342-2-0-3\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"8\" ><div class=\"c-tab c-blue panel-widget-style panel-widget-style-for-2342-2-0-3\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><h3 class=\"widget-title\">Conduct Emergency balance sheet management<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>Greater market volatility is to be expected now. Efforts on managing capital, funding, liquidity, interest rate risk, FX risk exposures in crisis are all relevant now. A senior expert with such experience may be assigned to help financial institutions remotely.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to pay attention on the financial items suffering from COVID-19, which will require adjustments in financial projections:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Net interest incomes, fees, commissions<\/li>\n<li>Loan loss provisions<\/li>\n<li>HR and non-HR operating costs<\/li>\n<li>Mark to market related costs<\/li>\n<li>Liquidity coverage ratio<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-2342-2-0-4\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"9\" ><div class=\"c-tab c-green panel-widget-style panel-widget-style-for-2342-2-0-4\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><h3 class=\"widget-title\">Ensure occupational safety and health (OSH) measures<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>Institutions need to prioritize the protection of their employees and clients in the offices that remain open. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/docs\/default-source\/coronaviruse\/advice-for-workplace-clean-19-03-2020.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WHO\u2019s advice on getting workplace ready for COVID-19<\/a>, there are several pillars, which help to prevent the spread of\u00a0 infection in the workplaces:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Thorough<\/b> <b>cleaning<\/b> of workplaces, transit and contact areas, equipment used by employees and customers, and all surfaces and objects;<\/li>\n<li><b>Protective equipment <\/b>for personnel<b>: <\/b>face masks, protective gloves, and sanitizers;<\/li>\n<li><b>Social distancing<\/b>: minimum 1.5-meter distance between people, plastic\/glass screening shields (separators) between employees and customers, and limited number of meetings and visitors in the premises<\/li>\n<li><b>Social awareness<\/b>: billboards promoting good hygiene, cashless payments and distant services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>BFC observes that many institutions have already implemented such measures early in March 2020, and therefore have adequate OSH protocols in place. For institutions that have not done so yet, it is highly recommended to follow national or WHO recommendations and updates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-2342-2-0-5\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"10\" ><div class=\"c-tab c-green panel-widget-style panel-widget-style-for-2342-2-0-5\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><h3 class=\"widget-title\">Setup of remote operations<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>For continuity of operations, where feasible, employees may need to work from home for some period.
